I’ve heard of Fried Twinkies, Fried Krispy Kreme Donuts, and a bunch of other odd fried foods at the county fair, but I honestly don’t know what to say about this Fried Kool-Aid. These are words I never would have imagined being put together, and I’m sure everyone else feels the same way. I almost want to think this is a joke, the other part of me wants to drive out to San Diego and give it a try just to say I did!

I woke up this morning to see Ryan Dunn as a trending topic on twitter, and I figured it only meant one of 2 things, he either did something crazy and got arrested for it, or he died. Sadly it was the latter, he passed away early this morning in a drunk driving car accident. I have been a fan of Jackass for the longest time, never missed an episode, and followed them from the TV show to the movies, even went to see the latest Jackass 3-D movie in theaters the first week it came out. I was such a huge fan of Jackass back in the day, that I saved up to buy my own camcorder when I was in high school so I could film me and my friends doing our own jackass stunts! Hearing about anybody dying is always a very sad situation, and a big reality check, this is no different. Let this be a lesson that driving drunk is a very serious matter, and can affect anyone. He will be remembered as someone that made people laugh at his own expense, and we appreciate every bit of his crazy antics on the one of a kind entertainment him and the rest of the Jackass crew provided. This tragedy happens just a little over a week after his 34th birthday, and a week after Jackass 3.5 is released on DVD. Rest in peace Ryan Dunn!

Dan Duarte, the designer of our first 2 t-shirts, that we will be releasing soon, made a video update with some of his most recent projects, including Fuck Your Hustle! The other projects he mentions in the video are the Good Squad Tee, and Real Deal’s album titled “The Working Man’s Emcee“, be sure to check those out as well. He is a talented and reasonably priced graphic artist that I’ve worked with a few times, and he always does great work. Easy to work with, and keeps the lines of communication open so you get your moneys worth, in a promptly manner. “Hush” is the 3rd video from Kap Kallous‘ debut album “I Should Have Kept My Mouth Shut” released on Ever Ready Records. The politically charged visuals for the gritty aggressive anthem-like single, made me appreciate this track more than I already did. If you haven’t heard this Florida native’s debut album, I would highly recommend picking it up. The album has an overall professional sound to it, from the beats, the rhymes, and everything in between, to make for a collection of tracks that are well worth paying for. The hard copies are sold out at the moment, but you can still purchase it on Itunes as well as stream it in full before purchasing on Bandcamp. He also has 2 free EPs available for free download on his bandcamp page, so be sure to check those out as well.

Kreayshawn has got the internet, and the record labels going nuts over her recently released music video for her song “Gucci Gucci“, which has accumulated 1.5 million views in the first 2 weeks of it being uploaded. Before she dropped this catchy swagged out anthem, she was relatively unknown to the social networking masses, but has been building her name as not only an artist, but as a video director for Lil B, who also has a huge internet following. After Gucci Gucci dropped, I started seeing the video being posted, as well as gifts, and quotes from the song, all over my timelines, and was surprised how quick it was spreading around.

I had first heard of Kreayshawn after seeing fellow White Girl Mob member, V-Nasty freestyling with Andy Milonakis, and it lead me to Kreayshawn‘s Channel when I searched for more. I noticed they definitely had the charisma and stand out style that was very marketable, they just needed to polish up, and continue to grind, and it feels like they have done just that, and are headed on the right path. Whether you hate it or love it, they have appeal, and are having fun with what they’re doing. This rumor hasn’t been confirmed yet as far as I know, but it comes from a reliable source, so assuming it’s true until I hear otherwise, big ups to Kreayshawn, and her camp, look forward to seeing them make major moves. SWAG.

UPDATE: Complex Mag posted an interview with Kreayshawn “In Her Own Words“, and she denies the signing, but states she has been talking to various labels, and nothing is finalized at the moment, but they will announce who she signs to when everyone is ready.

The Bee Shine visits the headquarters of the Los Angeles based, independent record label, Ever Ready Records. Artist/A&R, Lush One, gives us a tour of the studio, and offices to show us where it all goes down. We also get an introduction to the people responsible for the different branches that come together to make everything happen. This is an insightful, and inspirational look into an up and coming, steadily thriving label put together and ran by a group of friends. The long awaited project from Bad Meets Evil, the duo which consists of Eminem & Royce Da 5’9 for those of you living under a rock, or born yesterday, is finally set to release on June 14th, 2011. Many of us never thought this project would see the light of day after Em and Royce had a failing out, but they reconciled, and hip hop will be blessed with some great music from 2 of hip hop’s most talented lyricists.  There’s no doubt that this project would have been a classic if it came to fruition in the Slim Shady era, as it was originally intended, but I guess we will just have to chalk this one up to the good old saying, better late than never. I have my doubts that it will live up to the hype, as I’m sure others do, but I’m excited about the project either way, because I’m still a fan of both artists, and their previous work they’ve done together.

For those that have never heard of Wax, he’s been steadily putting out videos on Youtube over the last few years, and they continued to get better and better with each upload. He went from recording one take videos of him rapping while driving around in his car, to putting together professional quality music videos, and various other types of creative videos. A friend of mine would always link me to new Wax stuff, and while I knew he had talent, I didn’t pay full attention to him on my own until about a 2 years ago when I subscribed to his youtube, and started seeing more and more people posting his videos on different message boards. The song that really caught my attention from him was “The Adventures of Larry & Tina“, after I heard this song and saw the video, it solidified my views on Wax being a talented rapper. I’ve been a fan ever since, and am happy to see him starting to get the shine an emcee of his caliber deserves.

He just put out a free mixtape titled “Scrub Life” Hosted by DJ Skee on March 15th, the same day it was officially announced that he has been signed to Def Jam!
